My oldest daughter Nicole was still in the womb when I placed
headphones from the old portable walkman’s on my wife’s
stomach as I played Miles, Coltrane, and Jarreau. From the time
she was about three into her early teens we listened to jazz to
together. As a young-teen she actually listened to Bosha and
Al Jarreau. That lasted until her young cousins introduced her
to Rap music. She’s now twenty in college and fully into Hip Hop,
I remain eternally hopeful.

The jazz enthusiast of tomorrow are our children, the competition
for there ear and attention is tremendous. We would like to share
with you some visual activities to share with your kids to help
encourage the process along. Please feel free to access and print-
out our connect-the-dots, coloring sheet, and color and cutout
bookmarks with your children.
